Averno City is infested with crime, and as a rookie cop fresh out of the Academy it’s up to you to hit the beat and play your part in cleaning house. As revealed during theFuture Games ShowSummer Showcase, you won’t have to wait long for your first assignment as The Precinct releases on August 15, 2024.
Initially you’ll be patrolling the streets on foot, issuing parking tickets and busting low-level perps you encounter, but it won’t be long before the crimes escalate and you’ll be called in to deal with gang shootouts and daring bank robberies.
Jump behind the wheel of your patrol car and initiate high-speed vehicle chases, smashing through destructible environments and calling in backup to help stop the suspects in their tracks. Pilot a helicopter and fly over the city, tracking criminals from the skies and directing your colleagues to catch them in the act.
The gritty 1980s setting of Averno City provides an open world to explore that’s dripping with urban decay, and combined with the top-down view of the action evokes memories of the early Grand Theft Auto games – though of course, this time you’re on the right side of the law!
You’re not just here to clean up the mean streets though, as you’re also investigating the mysterious murder of your father in the line of duty. To get to the truth, you’ll have to dig through the layers of corruption to uncover what really happened on that fateful day.
The Precinct will launch on PC via Steam, PS5, and Xbox Series X and S on August 15, 2024. To stay up to date with the latest intel you canwishlist on Steam, join the Discord, andfollow on Twitter.
